Charles Bukowski - Notes of an old goat. Gift book bound in leather.
Charles Bukowski is an American writer, poet, novelist and journalist of German origin. A representative of the so-called "dirty realism". He is the author of more than two hundred short stories included in sixteen collections, six novels and more than thirty poetry books.
Charles Bukowski is a cult American writer whose European popularity has always overtaken the American one (in Germany alone, the lifetime circulation of his books exceeded two million), the author of more than forty books, including novels, poems, essays and short stories. Despite the sometimes shocking naturalism, his texts are full of lyricism, even a kind of sentimentality. Bukowski is rightfully considered a master of the short form, which he honed in his legendary column "Notes of an old goat", published in the Los Angeles underground newspaper "Open City"; it was these stories that turned him from an outsider poet into "the idol of millions and the ruler of thoughts," no matter how much he disavowed such a definition. The "Notes of the Old Goat" have already been published in Russian - shortened by a quarter and in a meager, Samizdat, edition; that edition has long been a collector's rarity.
