The book is dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the victory in the battle of Gangut.

In the book "Guns of the Russian fleet" on the background of a brief sketch of pre-revolutionary history of the Russian Navy presents all the diversity identified so far in museums and private collections designs of hand firearms and bladed weapons that were used by Russian sailors.

Major Museum collection on the basis of which prepared this book arms collections of the Central naval Museum and the Military historical Museum of artillery, engineer and signal corps. Also used materials from the collections of the State Hermitage Museum, State museums-reserves in Tsarskoye Selo and Gatchina, the State Historical Museum in Moscow, and gun monuments from private collections .
