The book is a military historian, Lieutenant-General Alexander Fomich petrushevskii (1826-1904) is considered the best biography of the greatest Russian General Alexander Vasilyevich Suvorov (1730-1800). This fundamental work based on the analysis of a huge number of sources, mostly manuscript and the time remaining is unknown, as well as virtually the entire published literature about Suvorov. The author has set out to portray Suvorov not only as a legendary commander, and to show a live historical person, to understand the conditions in which formed his character and genius of a commander. This fundamental work, the author took eight years of hard work.

The trilogy describes the life events of A. V. Suvorov, a military campaign under his command, given a psychological portrait of this extraordinary man; at the end of the third volume provides a complete list of sources with their brief description. The book contains maps of military actions of Suvorov, the commander portraits and facsimiles of documents written in his hand.
