Alexander Griboyedov — Russian diplomat, poet, playwright, pianist and composer, a nobleman. Councillor of state. Griboyedov is known thanks to a brilliantly rhymed play "Woe from wit", which is still quite often put in Russian theaters.

The complete works of Griboyedov, in 3 volumes (1911-1917) was implemented N. K. Piksanov in the series "the Academic Library of Russian Writers", produced by the Discharge of belles-lettres of the Imperial Academy of Sciences (in the preparation of the 1st volume was attended by corresponding member of the Academy of Sciences, the editor of the first scientific edition of the works of Griboyedov, 1889 I. A. Shlyapkin). In three volumes includes all known by the time the Griboedov texts.
