Marcus Tullius Cicero. 3 volumes in a wooden case. Gift books bound in leather
Marcus Tullius Cicero was an ancient Roman politician, orator, and the greatest philosopher of the Roman world. Coming from a low-class family, he made a brilliant career thanks to his oratorical talent: he entered the Senate no later than 73 BC and became Consul in 63 BC.
Cicero's literary heritage is very large and diverse. First of all, his fame is undoubtedly based on his speeches. Cicero published more than a hundred speeches, political and judicial, of which 58 have been preserved in full or in significant fragments. The publication was scheduled for the 2000th anniversary of the death of Cicero, celebrated in 1958. When preparing the publication, a translation of all the speeches of Cicero was made, but the publisher published only selected ones.
Contents:
Volume 1.
In the center of the first volume are the famous speeches against Verres and against Catilina.
13 speeches of Cicero 81-63 BC.
Volume 2.
In the second volume, the publication of Cicero's speeches continues. The volume ends with the famous Philippics.
14 speeches of Cicero 62-43 BC.
Volume 3.
