Seneca a Roman philosopher, politician, poet. Born in Spain (córdoba), another child was carried by his father to Rome. Was a teacher of 11-year-old Nero, future Emperor. One of the key representatives of stoicism. 57, Seneca gets the position of Consul - the highest in the Empire.

Enemies and envious, playing on the weaknesses of Nero, Seneca was accused of complicity in the plot against the Emperor. Nero ordered Seneca was sentenced to death. The old philosopher bravely met unjust sentence and died by slashing his wrists.

"Moral letters Lucilius" is the major work of Seneca that have come down to us in the original.

Marcus Aurelius - Roman Emperor, philosopher. He was born in Rome. Seventeen young men noticed him, was adopted and brought to the Department of state relative and the then Emperor Antonius Pius. 140 year became Consul.

Follower of the teachings of the philosopher Seneca. In the years 161-180 Roman Emperor. On March 17 of the year 180 Marcus Aurelius died of the plague in Vindobona on the Danube (modern Vienna).
