The new encyclopedia "Volleyball" offered to the reader is devoted primarily to domestic sports, its history and achievements. At the same time, the book is built according to the classical canons of the encyclopedic genre. It includes information about the history of the flying ball in the world, about international and continental associations. The most detailed information is given about the All-Russian Volleyball Federation, the USSR Volleyball Federation, the International Federation and the European Confederation.

Of the more than two hundred national federations-members of the FIVB, the encyclopedia provides, first of all, information about associations located in the Old World, as well as about the leading sports unions of Asia, America and Africa.
