Wilhelm Hauff was a German poet and novelist, a representative of the direction of the Biedermeier in the literature. Literary heritage Hauff is in the collections of tales, one of which was released by his wife after his death, several novels and poems.
Hauff is known primarily as a writer of fairy tales - beautiful, magical, mysterious, kind, sometimes a little sad, filled with soft humor and imbued with the spirit of the East, which is inspired by the popular Arabic tales.
