Ivan Putilin, Arkady Koshko - On guard of the Fatherland. Criminal Investigation Department of the Russian Empire. Gift book bound in leather.
On guard of the Fatherland. Criminal Investigation Department of the Russian Empire.
This book was compiled by handwritten notes of two famous Russian forensic detectives: the first head of the St. Petersburg detective police, Ivan Dmitrievich Putilin, and the head of the Moscow Detective Police, the head of the Criminal Investigation Department of the Russian Empire, Arkady Frantsevich Koshko.
Unique abilities in solving the most complex criminal crimes, for which both Putilin and Koshko were called "geniuses of Russian detective work", outstanding organizational skills allowed them to restore iron order in all criminal police units of the largest cities of Russia.
The high detection rate of crimes, personal daring, the application in practice of the most modern achievements of criminology at that time, the introduction of fingerprinting and the creation of an exceptionally accurate file of criminals, which was later borrowed by British Scotland Yard, made Russian detectives European celebrities. As a result, at the International Congress of Criminologists held in Switzerland in 1913, the Russian detective police was recognized as the best in the world in crime detection.
